Ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 scheduled to take place in Delhi from February 16 to 20, the prices of five-star hotels are witnessing a massive surge.
The summit will take place at Bharat Mandapam in central Delhi and see a host of foreign delegates, speakers and technology speakers gracing the event.

Amid this, the demand for accommodation has risen sharply in New Delhi and surrounding areas, with hotels reporting full occupancy for all dates during the summit. There have been more than 35,000 registrations for this global event and the increased demand for hotels has led to significant increases in hotel room rates. For instance, a hotel room that is usually priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 40,000 per night is now priced at a much higher rate.
Room rates go beyond lakhs
According to travel agency listings, room prices at various five-star hotels are nearing several lakhs of rupees per night during the peak demand on the nights of February 19 and February 20.
For luxury category hotels, the prices have crossed Rs 3 lakh per night.
Claiming that the hotel rates have crossed a lakh per night, Aloke Bajpai, CEO of travel portal Ixigo, said on X, "The India AI Impact Summit has surely impacted hotel rates in Delhi NCR. Several 5 star hotels in Delhi are going at 1 Lakh+ per night between 16-20 Feb."
On the travel website Make My Trip (MMT), the price at The Leela Palace is Rs 3,25,750 per night during the summit. This price is excluding the taxes per night which amount to Rs about Rs 58,000.
Additionally, according to MMT, a room at The Imperial costs Rs 2.84 lakh excluding taxes (about Rs 51,000) during the summit duration. The Oberoi costs about Rs 5.5 lakh, exlcuding the almost Rs 1 lakh taxes per night.
Taj Palace costs Rs 60,575 per night excluding taxes while Holiday Inn costs Rs 63,563 per night excluding taxes.
The summit
The India AI Impact Summit is expected to be the biggest of four recent AI summits globally, with participation expected from all over the world, including more than 100 countries, 15 - 20 heads of government, over 50 ministers and representatives of over 40 global and Indian companies. In total, roughly 500 people will be represented from the global AI ecosystem, including innovators, researchers and CTOs.
The Indian Prime Minister announced the summit at the AI Action Summit (France) and will be the first-of-its-kind in a global south country.
