The IMD linked the expected relief from the heatwave to a fresh western disturbance impacting northwest India from May 28 onwards. Moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal is also likely to influence weather conditions over the region.
“Relief in heatwave conditions over the region is likely due to a western disturbance along with a moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal due to the likely formation of a lower tropospheric east-west trough,” the IMD said.
