Eight months after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet in the Jammu court. The agency said three terrorists involved in the attack were later killed by the Indian Army during Operation Mahadev.
The chargesheet also names three on-ground workers- Bashir Ahmed Jother, Parvez Ahmed Jother and Mohammad Yusuf Katari. These people allegedly provided shelter, food and logistical support to the terrorists a day before the attack. The involvement of Resistance Front (TRF) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has also been mentioned in the chargesheet.
On April 22, 2025, a deadly terror attack took place in Pahalgam’s Baijson Valley, a popular tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir. Three armed terrorists opened fire on civilians, killing 26 people who were visiting the area for a holiday. The attackers were reportedly carrying M4 carbines and AK-47 rifles.
Soon after the incident, The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy part of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack. However, the group later withdrew its claim, creating further questions around the planning and execution of the assault.
