Nagaland CEO office announces Rs 60,000 Research Associate post — check eligibility

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland, has invited applications from eligible candidates for the post of Research Associate for thematic work related to election planning. The position will be based at the CEO's office in Kohima and will be part of a time-bound engagement under the Election Commission of India (ECI).

According to the official advertisement dated March 3, 2026, the engagement will initially be for six months, with the possibility of extension depending on requirements.

Eligibility and academic requirements

The advertisement states that applicants must possess a Master's degree with at least 55 per cent marks along with UGC NET and/or a PhD in fields such as Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Public Administration or Law.

Preference will be given to candidates with research experience and published academic work. The notice specifies that "preference will be given to candidates with research experience in projects/research institutions, and to those with published research papers in Scopus/UGC Care List journals, policy briefs, or other academic publications in relevant areas".

The selected candidate will work on thematic work related to Election Planning, as undertaken by the Election Commission of India.

Salary and tenure

As per the advertisement, the selected Research Associate will receive a fixed monthly remuneration of Rs 60,000.

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications in the prescribed format along with supporting documents related to education, experience and publications.

The notice states that the application format is available for download at https://ceo.nagaland.gov.in.

Applicants must submit their completed applications along with copies of testimonials to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer. The last date for submission of applications is March 15, 2026.
