The Indian Postal Department is all set to release the India Post GDS Result 2026, consisting of 28,636 Gramin Dak Sevak and related positions. Once the results are out, you can download the first merit list in PDF format from the indiapostgdsonline.gov.in portal.
The merit list will be uploaded with respect to individual states and circles. Candidates whose names appear in the list will be shortlisted for the next stage of the recruitment process, which includes document verification and medical examination.
Earlier, the Indian Postal Department completed the online application process from January 31 to February 16, 2026, for thousands of Gramin Dak Sevak positions. Now that the window is closed, applicants from across the country are awaiting the first merit list.
When will India Post GDS Result 2026 be released?
Although the postal department has not announced an official result date yet. However, based on previous recruitment cycles, the first merit list is expected to be released anytime from March onwards.
Once the results are out, candidates can visit the official portal and click on the “Shortlisted Candidates” section to download the merit list in PDF format, where they can find the shortlisted candidates for individual circles.

Download the file and keep a copy for future reference
