UPSSSC Lekhpal PET result 2026 out: Over 3.6 lakh candidates shortlisted — check cutoff now

Candidates who have cleared the PET cutoff will now move forward to the main written examination, which will determine final selection.

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has announced the Lekhpal PET Result 2026, shortlisting 3,66,712 candidates for the next and main stage of recruitment against 7,994 vacancies. The selection, based on Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) scores, marks one of the most competitive hiring processes conducted by the commission in recent years, with nearly 46 candidates vying for each available post.

Strong competition for Lekhpal posts

The Lekhpal position continues to attract large numbers of applicants due to job stability, government benefits and steady career progression. Classified under Pay Level 3, the role offers a starting basic salary of Rs 21,700, while total monthly earnings are estimated between Rs 28,000 and Rs 32,000 depending on allowances.

Candidates who have cleared the PET cutoff will now move forward to the main written examination, which will determine final selection.

How to check UPSSSC Lekhpal Result 2026

Candidates can access their scorecards through the official UPSSSC website by following these steps:

Visit the official portal and go to the 'Results' or 'Notice Board' section.

Click on the link titled 'UPSSSC Lekhpal Main Examination Result 2026'.

Enter login details such as Registration Number or Roll Number along with Date of Birth and CAPTCHA.

Submit the information to view and download the result for future reference.

Category-wise cutoff marks announced

The commission has also released category-wise PET cutoff scores used for shortlisting candidates. The cutoff stands at 55.12 marks for Unreserved (UR), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Scheduled Caste (SC) categories. For Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, the cutoff has been fixed at 47.50 marks.

Officials stated that the cutoff was determined after considering factors such as total applicants, exam difficulty and the number of available vacancies.

Vacancy distribution and exam pattern

Out of the total 7,994 posts, 3,205 are reserved for Unreserved candidates, 2,158 for OBC, 1,679 for SC, 792 for EWS and 160 for ST candidates, in line with state reservation norms.

The upcoming main examination will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions carrying 100 marks, to be completed within two hours. Notably, the Mathematics section has been replaced with a 10-mark Data Interpretation segment, introducing a key change to the exam pattern. Dates for the main examination are expected to be announced soon.
