State Bank of India (SBI) has released a notification for the recruitment of Apprentices under the Apprenticeship Act 1961 through its Central Recruitment & Promotion Department, Corporate Centre, Mumbai.
Under SBI Apprentice Recruitment 2026, applications are invited for 7,150 apprentice posts across various states and union territories in India. Eligible and interested candidates can apply online through the official SBI careers website from May 19 to June 8, 2026.

What rules has SBI clarified regarding job assurance after training
This recruitment drive is being conducted under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training for a period of one year. As per NDTV reports, during this training, apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹15,000. However, SBI has clarified that completing the apprenticeship does not guarantee permanent job placement in the bank after the training period ends.

After this, they must complete the registration process using an active mobile number and email ID, and then fill in all required details such as personal information and educational qualifications.
Next, applicants are required to upload necessary documents, including a photograph and signature in the prescribed format, and complete the online payment process. After carefully reviewing all the details, they should submit the application form and download a copy for future reference and record-keeping.

Who can apply for SBI apprentice recruitment 2026
According to the official notification, candidates applying for SBI Apprentice Recruitment 2026 must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification approved by the central government. The minimum age of applicants should be 20 years and the maximum age should not exceed 28 years as of April 1, 2026.
However, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be eligible for age relaxation as per government rules and regulations.
What is the application fee and selection process for SBI apprentice recruitment 2026
The application fee for SBI Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is ₹300 for candidates belonging to General, OBC, and EWS categories, while candidates from SC, ST, and PwBD categories are exempted from paying any fee.
The selection process will include an online written examination followed by a local language proficiency test. Candidates who qualify will further undergo document verification and a medical examination before final selection.
