Rajasthan Royals produced one of their finest batting performances of IPL 2026 to defeat Lucknow Super Giants by seven wickets in a high-scoring contest. Chasing a daunting target of 221, Rajasthan completed the chase in just 19.1 overs and kept its playoff hopes alive with a fearless display in Jaipur. The victory was powered by explosive knocks from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and captain Yashasvi Jaiswal, while Dhruv Jurel calmly finished the job under pressure.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi turns the game in Rajasthan’s favour
The Royals started aggressively and never allowed Lucknow’s bowlers to settle. Yashasvi Jaiswal gave the innings early momentum with a fiery 43 off just 23 balls, smashing eight fours and a six at a strike rate close to 187. After his dismissal, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi completely changed the tempo of the game with a sensational innings.

The youngster hammered 93 runs from only 38 deliveries and narrowly missed out on a century. His innings included seven boundaries and ten massive sixes, with the left-hander striking at over 244. Vaibhav attacked both pace and spin fearlessly and ensured Rajasthan remained ahead of the required run rate throughout the chase.
Dhruv Jurel then provided the finishing touch with a composed unbeaten 53 from 38 balls. Donovan Ferreira also contributed a quick cameo at the end as Rajasthan crossed the target with five balls remaining.
Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis shine in a losing cause
Earlier in the evening, Lucknow Super Giants posted a massive 220 for five after strong contributions from its top order.

Mitchell Marsh led the charge with a brilliant 96 off 57 balls, falling just four runs short of a deserved century. Josh Inglis supported him brilliantly with a rapid 60 from only 29 deliveries.

Rishabh Pant also chipped in with 35, but Lucknow lost momentum in the closing overs due to quick wickets and run-outs. Yash Raj Punja emerged as Rajasthan’s most effective bowler with two wickets, while Jofra Archer picked up an important breakthrough during the innings.
