Mouthwash touches the lips and tongue, and as soon as it enters the mouth, electricity seems to course through the entire body. This is because commercial mouthwashes contain quite high levels of alcohol. They also contain various types of chemicals. Doctors say that while such products may appear safe at first glance, they actually are not. Long-term use is more likely to harm the mouth rather than benefit it. There is even a risk of developing cancer. However, if you can make this product naturally at home, there is not so much to fear.
Why should you not use alcohol-based mouthwash?
Using commercial mouthwash destroys both bad and good bacteria in the oral cavity. This creates an imbalance among the bacteria inside the mouth. The skin inside the mouth is extremely thin. Therefore, using commercial alcohol-based mouthwash can cause burning. Inflammatory problems can also occur. Most importantly, even after using such mouthwash, the problem of bad breath may persist. Discomfort inside the mouth may also increase.
