'Unity and solidarity of Hindu society is the sole objective of the Sangh', Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat said this on Sunday at the RSS centenary event in Bengal. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was present at the 'Shatayu Sangh' programme at Science City on Sunday. He said, "Sangh volunteers are in various fields (professions). Many are also in politics. If someone wants to understand the Sangh through BJP's perspective, that would prove futile. The Sangh has to be felt." His message was that the Sangh's work is not for getting election tickets; it has to be done selflessly.
Bhagwat invokes Bengal legends
Sarsanghchalak Bhagwat invoked Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Swami Vivekananda from the stage. He said, "There is no shortage of people who spread directly false narratives against the Sangh. But RSS does not consider anyone an enemy."
Speaking about Raja Ram Mohan Roy's social reforms, the Sangh chief said, "Ram Mohan Roy fought throughout his life for social reform. The work of social reform had started during his time. RSS wants to carry that tradition forward."
On this day, he gave the message of unity to the Hindu society. He stated that the non-unity of the Hindu society led India to fall into the hands of foreigners at various times. To prevent such a situation, he called upon the entire Hindu nation to unite from the soil of Bengal itself.
