Imagine clearing security and suddenly realising you forgot something important like a charger, earphones or even a snack. That last-minute airport panic is something almost every traveller has experienced. But things are now changing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in a big way.
For the first time ever, Blinkit has started delivering items inside Terminal 2 of Mumbai airport for domestic flights. This means you donât have to rely on expensive airport shops anymore and you can simply order what you need and get it where youâre sitting.
The update was shared by CEO Albinder Dhindsa on April 1 on his X handle, and many thought it was a joke at first. He later confirmed âItâs not.â. The service is now live, with the help of Adani Airports Holdings Limited making Mumbai the first airport in the world to offer this facility.

When can you start ordering?
The service is already live, so if youâre flying from Terminal 2 for domestic flights, you can use it right away. You donât need to sign up for anything extra, instead you just need to update the Blinkit app before your trip. Itâs made to be simple, so even if youâre busy with boarding, you can easily order and get what you need at the airport.
How to place order?
The process is simple but comes with one important rule that is you need to clear security first. Once you enter into the secure area, open the Blinkit app and select your exact location. After placing the order, a delivery partner will walk to your spot inside the terminal. When they arrive, you just need to verify your order and share the OTP to complete the delivery. It feels very similar to ordering at home, just that it happens inside an airport. Also, keep in mind that cash-on-delivery is not available, so you will need to pay using UPI or card.
Where will your order arrive?
Your order will come to you near your boarding gate or wherever you are sitting inside the secure area. This includes lounges, waiting areas and even nearby restaurants within the terminal. However, deliveries are strictly limited to areas after the security checkpoint. This means you cannot order while standing outside or before entering the secure zone. The idea is to keep everything smooth and within airport rules. So, once you have checked in and crossed security, you can relax and let your order come to you.
Where is the Blinkit store or warehouse?
Blinkit uses two places to deliver quickly. One store is inside the airport after security at Terminal 2, so your order reaches you fast. Another store is nearby outside the airport for other items. For drinks like water and juice, they use stock already inside the airport, so nothing crosses security, which follows the rules and keeps CISF happy.
What about pricing and payments?
One of the biggest concerns travellers usually have is pricing, especially at airports where things are often expensive. But hereâs the good part that is Blinkit is not charging any special airport premium. You will pay the same kind of delivery fees that you usually pay in the city. There are no extra hidden charges just because you are at the airport. However, platform fees may still vary depending on your order value. Also, since cash-on-delivery is not allowed, you need to rely on digital payment methods for a smooth experience.
What can you order?
You can choose from a wide range of items, almost like a small store coming to you. On Blinkit, you can order things like chargers, earphones, snacks, books, baby products and more. Drinks like water and juices are provided from inside the airport to follow security rules. So, whether you forgot something or just feel like buying something, youâll likely find it easily. Returns are allowed that is if something is damaged or missing, you can raise a return on the Blinkit app before sharing the OTP.
This helps people avoid expensive airport shops, as Blinkit now offers normal prices inside the airport. Right now, itâs only at Mumbaiâs Terminal 2 for domestic flights, but it may soon come to other airports and make travel easier.
