Arjun Tendulkar is set to begin a new chapter in his domestic T20 journey after securing a notable deal in the latest T20 Mumbai League auction. The young all-rounder, who has struggled for game time in the ongoing Indian Premier League season, attracted attention with a strong bid that underlined continued faith in his potential.
He was picked up by ARCS Andheri for Rs 10 lakh, marking a sharp jump from his base price of Rs 2 lakh. The move not only reflects his perceived value in the shorter format but also offers him a platform to gain match exposure.
A timely opportunity
The signing comes at a crucial point in Tendulkar’s career. Despite being part of an IPL setup this season, he has yet to feature in a match, limiting his chances to showcase his abilities at the highest level.
The Mumbai league now provides him with competitive game time in familiar conditions. It also allows him to reconnect with the domestic circuit where he has previously built his reputation as a developing all-rounder.
Eligibility and BCCI clearance
According to NDTV, Arjun Tendulkar’s participation was subject to clearance under the Board of Control for Cricket in India regulations. Having represented Goa in recent seasons after moving from Mumbai, questions had arisen over his eligibility to feature in another state league.
However, he was cleared to play after meeting the criteria that restrict players from participating in multiple state-run T20 leagues within a defined period. Since he had not appeared in such competitions over the past year, he became eligible for selection.

Looking to build momentum
The upcoming tournament offers Tendulkar a chance to build rhythm and confidence. Known for his left-arm pace and useful lower-order batting, he has shown promise in domestic cricket but is still searching for consistency at higher levels.

A strong showing in the T20 Mumbai League could help him push for more opportunities, both in domestic competitions and potentially in the IPL, where he continues to wait for a breakthrough moment.
