Indian hockey star Manpreet Singh eyes Yo-Yo challenge with Virat Kohli

Indian Hockey Star Manpreet Singh is set for a cross-over with cricket icon Virat Kohli for a high-intensity Yo-Yo test session, uniting two of India's fittest athletes.

Manpreet Singh, one of the biggest stars of the Indian hockey team, has shown his eagerness to take part in a Yo-Yo fitness session with Virat Kohli and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad. The two-time Olympic medallist also addressed comparisons between the fitness standards of Indian hockey players and cricketers during a recent press conference.

Speaking on the debate surrounding athletic fitness across sports, Manpreet said he would love to train with Kohli, widely regarded as one of the fittest cricketers in the world. The hockey midfielder expressed admiration for the discipline and endurance maintained by elite cricketers throughout long tournaments such as the IPL.

The Invitation to RCB from Indian Hockey team

With the concern regarding on-field fitness, Manpreet and his team have shown a heartful desire to invite the entire RCB team for a training session with the Indian Hockey team. He also wanted to have a competition between the two teams in terms of training sessions which mostly rectifies the overall fitness of the player

Manpreet praises cricket, stating it more challenging than hockey

In the recent interview with a press conference, Manpreet claimed cricket to be more difficult than hockey. He praised the cricketers for being much calculative about the ball speed and on-field scenarios through which the players lead their team to victory.

He also mentioned about the batting, position and eye contact which is much more different from hockey. Manpreet is seen to deliver a mutual respect between the two sports, claiming hockey as a sport of endurance and repetitive positioning, and cricket as a sport of reflex and hand-eye coordination.

Kohli's fitness continuity amid the IPL 202

In this season of IPL, Virat Kohli is seen to be in full format and so as RCB. Being the game changer for RCB, they have secured their place for the playoffs. Kohli, this season in terms of his batting performance, is currently the top-scorer of RCB with 542 runs and an average strike rate of 164.74 in just 13 played matches. His aggressive playstyle had sparked about his fitness and durability all over the world.

In an overall, the sports fanatics are eagerly waiting for a face-to-face challenge of fitness between Manpreet and Kohli. Whereas the hockey star is also having an eagerness to accept the challenge, and so as his team to make a fitness collaboration between hockey and cricket
