Rohit Sharma now belongs to an exclusive list of Indian cricketers who have crossed the 14,000-run mark in List A cricket. The 'Hitman' broke the run record while playing in India’s second ODI match against Afghanistan; he scored 48 runs off 39 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes.

And now, with this run tally, the List A runs tally of Rohit, consisting of runs scored by him in both international and domestic one-day cricket matches, adds up to 14,038 in 356 matches and 37 hundreds. And he happens to be one of the best Indian players who has accomplished this feat, coming after Sachin Tendulkar, who holds the top list with 21,999 runs, Virat Kohli with 16,447 runs, Sourav Ganguly with 15,622 runs, and Rahul Dravid with 15,271 runs.

Afghanistan's loose spell led India to score a huge

After the toss won by Afghanistan, Team India was led to bat and had the brilliant combination of Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan to destroy the bowling side. While Shubman Gill scored 154 runs off 110 balls, Ishan Kishan managed to score 125 runs off just 79 balls. Hence, India posted an outstanding 402 runs with all out in 49.5 overs.

While Nangeyaliya Kharoti managed to get four wickets at the cost of 76 runs, Rashid Khan bagged three wickets at the expense of 48 runs. It is going to be difficult for the Afghan team to win the match as they have to score 403 runs to draw the series.

India destroys Afghanistan's hope for ODI tri-series

Although India beat Afghanistan by 170 runs in the three-ODI match series, the Men in Blues established an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the series. The reason behind the victory of India is the brilliant third-wicket partnership of Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan, who scored an unbeatable 224 runs partnership in just 141 deliveries. Both Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan scored their ninth and second centuries, respectively and ensured India crossed 402 runs. But at the same time, Afghanistan gave their best in death overs with a loss of 7 wickets for just 62 runs and stopped India from scoring above 450 runs.

As far as Afghanistan was concerned, the job to chase down the total became extremely difficult for them, despite Rahmat Shah doing all he could by making 79 and Rahmanullah Gurbaz smashing 41 in quick succession. Debutant Darwish Rasooli had to be retired hurt during his innings. On the bowling side, both Arshdeep Singh and Gurnoor Brar took three wickets apiece.
