The All India Football Federation has taken a decisive step toward redefining the commercial ecosystem of Indian football, as its Executive Committee evaluates long-term bids for media and marketing rights. With proposals running into thousands of crores and spanning two decades, the decision is set to influence how domestic competitions are broadcast, monetised, and globally positioned. Rather than opting for a quick conclusion, the federation is prioritising due diligence, stakeholder inclusion, and financial sustainability.

Structured evaluation over quick decisions

Instead of immediately awarding rights, the AIFF has initiated a layered review process to ensure transparency and strategic alignment. Independent consultants have been brought in to assess the financial strength, technical capabilities, and scalability of each bidder.
