Mohun Bagan is going through a lack of rhythm after not being able to win three matches straight. They are going to face Punjab FC in the next match, and they are coming back to their home ground in the Sunday clash, aiming to win. Punjab FC is entering the hardest part of the league, where they will face teams like East Bengal and Mohun Bagan Super Giants. Before that, at the Saturday press conference, the Punjab Kings coach and players looked in good spirits.

For Punjab FC, head coach Panagiotis Dilmperis acknowledged the challenging circumstances but showed confidence, saying, “Mohun Bagan is a good team with home advantage, but our duty is to play our style,” Dilmperis stated. “In all our games so far, we have been better than our opponents, which gives us confidence.”

On the other hand, Sergio Lobera talked about important aspects, “The league is very competitive, and every team is fighting for their objectives. Even if we believe we have the qualities to be champions, we must show that consistently on the pitch. It’s not just about belief, but also about improving in key areas.”

Sergio Lobera emphasises the team’s performance

Talking about the previous match, he said, “The next match is very important for us. We need to stay focused, manage the game better, and be ready in every moment. We don’t have much time, so every match is an opportunity to improve and take points.”

Adding to that, he also confirmed that Apuiya will not be available, “Apuiya is unfortunately injured and will not be available for us.” He also said, “We hope he recovers soon, but for now, we must focus on the players who are ready to step in and perform.”

ISL enters into an exciting phase

After finishing tenth in the last season, Punjab FC has done really well this season, winning two matches back-to-back, and they are positioned 7th this year. Showing faith in the team, he said, they have five great Indian talents who can come out as Important players for India in the coming years. On the other hand, with 14 points after 7 matches, Mohun Bagan is standing in the third position, if they fail to gain the momentum in the next match. It will become worse for them on their home ground.
