Bajaj Auto has relaunched the Bajaj Pulsar 180 in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.22 lakh. The bike returns after being discontinued in 2022 and continues to play an important role in the brand’s lineup. First introduced in 2001 alongside the Pulsar 150, the Pulsar 180 helped build Bajaj’s identity in the Indian motorcycle market. The new version is offered in a single variant and sits between the Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 220F. In terms of design, the motorcycle keeps its familiar Pulsar look but adds some modern touches. It now gets a single-piece seat, LED headlight, LED indicators and a sportier black theme with updated graphics. The bike is available in five colours, including Black Gold, Black Blue, Black Grey, Black Red and White.

Engine and features remain familiar

The Pulsar 180 continues to use the same 178.61cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine. It produces 17bhp at 8,500rpm and 15 N · m of torque at 6,500rpm, which is a slight increase in torque compared to the previous version. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. In terms of features, the bike now gets an LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. This allows call and SMS alerts, although it does not offer turn-by-turn navigation. The motorcycle has a ground clearance of 165mm, a fuel tank capacity of 15 litres and a kerb weight of 156kg.

Hardware and rivals in the segment

For hardware, the Pulsar 180 uses telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, making it suitable for everyday commuting. In the Indian market, the Pulsar 180 will compete with bikes like the TVS Apache RTR 180 and the Honda Hornet 2.0.
