Volkswagen India has unveiled the facelifted version of the Volkswagen Taigun, bringing over 40 updates across design, features and technology. The SUV continues to be one of the brandâs key offerings in India. The updated Taigun gets a refreshed front and rear design with revised bumpers and a new grille featuring a light band. A major highlight is the addition of illuminated Volkswagen logos at the front and rear, a first in this segment. Lighting has been upgraded with Infinity LED tail lamps, sequential turn indicators and welcome and goodbye animations. New colour options such as Avocado Pearl and Steel Grey have also been introduced, along with updated alloy wheels. Inside, the SUV gets improved materials and new upholstery options across variants, giving the cabin a more premium feel.
Tech and comfort see major boost
The Taigun now comes with a 10.1-inch infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also includes an integrated app store with preinstalled apps.
A âHello Volkswagenâ voice assistant powered by Google Cloud allows natural voice commands. The SUV also features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with navigation support and custom views. Other additions include a premium sound system with amplifier and subwoofer, full LED headlamps with auto levelling, and all-weather lighting. Comfort features have also been improved. The SUV now offers a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and a six-way electrically adjustable driver seat. It also gets smart-touch Climatronic AC as standard, along with a heated rear windscreen and rear wiper with intermittent control.

Safety, engine options and rivals
The Taigun continues to carry a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating and comes with six airbags as standard. It includes more than 40 safety features such as electronic stability control, hill hold control, multi-collision braking and brake disc wiping. Front and rear parking sensors are also part of the package. Under the hood, the SUV offers two TSI engine options. The 1.0 litre engine produces 85 kW and 178 Nm and is now paired with a new 8-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre engine produces 110 kW and 250 Nm and comes with a 7-speed DSG gearbox along with active cylinder technology for better efficiency. These variants also get rear disc brakes.

The Taigun will be available in multiple trims, including Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, Topline and GT variants. Pre-bookings have opened, with prices to be announced soon. Once launched, it will compete with models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Curvv, Honda Elevate and MG Astor in the Indian market.
