Google's Gemini App has got a new update which will now allow users to directly draw and annotate on images rather than describe the changes in words using Nano Banana. Besides this, Google has also extended SynthID verification to videos.
How it helps?
Making life easier for users, the former update will allow people to highlight or sketch on specific areas of any picture with the desired changes and within seconds, the modifications will appear. Instead of going the conventional way of having to type and describe in detail all the required changes, now only the exact spot needs to be highlighted and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will take care of the rest of the work.

According to Google, this update makes image-based requests more intuitive. However, Google still allows users to describe their requirements in detail, in case preferred by certain people.
This new feature will be available across Android, iOS and the web. When a user uploads an image for the first time, the feature will also have a short introduction explaining how it works.
What is SynthID?
Alongside this major update, Google has also expanded SynthID verification from images to videos, which means that users can now upload up to 100 MB videos, 90 seconds long, and ask Gemini if the content was created or edited through the use of Google AI.

After uploading the video, with the prompt "was this created using AI?", the feature looks for any watermarks and gives a response. According to Google, verification of images and videos is available across all Gemini-supported languages and regions.
Together, these updates rolled out by Google place Gemini as a tool that can be used for creativity and not just editing in the conventional way.
