The US government is looking into reports claiming that at least 10 American scientists have died or gone missing since mid-2023. Many of these individuals were said to be working in highly sensitive fields, including research linked to UFOs and nuclear power. The reports have raised questions due to the nature of their work and the number of cases within a relatively short period.

The issue surfaced during a media briefing, where questions were directed at the White House regarding whether the administration was aware of the situation and if any investigation was underway.

White House responds to concerns

According to the report of Hindustan Times, addressing the matter, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said she had not yet been briefed by relevant agencies but assured that the administration would look into it “I haven’t spoken to our relevant agencies about it. I will certainly do that, and we’ll get you an answer,” she said.

She further added, “If true, of course, that’s definitely something I think this government and its administration would deem worth looking into.” As per the report of Hindustan Times, she explains that while the reports have not been officially verified, they are being taken seriously enough to warrant follow-up.

Individuals named in reports

Several individuals have been mentioned in connection with the reports. Among them is Steven Garcia, a government contractor who disappeared on August 28, 2025. He was associated with the Kansas City National Security Campus, which operates in support of US national security programs.

Another name is Frank Maiwald, a scientist linked to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. His death was reported, although no public cause has been detailed. Anthony Chavez, who worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory, has also been listed among those who have gone missing. Both NASA and Los Alamos are involved in high-level scientific and technological research, adding to the attention these cases have received.

No evidence of a common link

Despite the concerns, there is currently no confirmed evidence connecting these cases. Officials have not indicated any pattern, cause, or external involvement tying the deaths and disappearances together. At this stage, the reports remain unverified in terms of any coordinated link. The individuals worked in different institutions and roles, although their association with sensitive research areas has drawn public interest.

The cluster of incidents has led to calls for greater clarity from authorities. Given the nature of the work these scientists were involved in, the reports have attracted attention both within policy circles and among the public.

However, officials have not made any definitive statements beyond acknowledging the need to review the information. There is no indication yet of a formal investigation specifically linking all the cases.

Situation under review

For now, the White House has stated that it will seek more details from relevant agencies before commenting further. The administration’s next steps will depend on what information is gathered during this process. Until then, the reports remain under scrutiny, with no confirmed conclusions about the circumstances surrounding the deaths and disappearances.
