‘A bold one...,’ Bharti Enterprises founder has THIS to say on the Union Budget 2026

Sunil Bharti Mittal calls the Budget bold and inclusive, praising its focus on skilling, innovation and digital infrastructure. He says the measures will strengthen domestic capability and accelerate technology-led economic growth.

Sunil Bharti Mittal, Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, has described the Union Budget as a bold blend of growth and inclusion, welcoming the government’s push toward skilling, research and infrastructure as a foundation for India’s next phase of economic expansion.

In his reaction to the Budget, Mittal said the strong emphasis on workforce skilling, combined with sustained investments in science, innovation and research, comes at a crucial time for the country. According to him, these measures will strengthen domestic capabilities and support import substitution in critical sectors, reducing long-term external dependence.

“A bold Budget that combines growth with inclusion. The strong emphasis on skilling, alongside sustained investments in science, innovation, and research are timely & will strengthen domestic capabilities, advancing import substitution in critical sectors,” Mittal said.

Infrastructure, logistics and data centres boost digital confidence

He also highlighted the government’s infrastructure strategy, particularly the focus on logistics modernisation, energy efficiency and the expanding data centre ecosystem. Mittal said these moves reinforce confidence in India’s rapidly growing digital economy and create the backbone for technology-led growth.

“Bolstering infrastructure and logistics with a focus on energy-efficiency & impetus to data centre ecosystem will further reinforce confidence in our burgeoning digital economy.”

Bharti Group reiterates commitment to technology-led inclusion

Mittal reaffirmed Bharti Group’s commitment to contributing to national priorities through technology and social investment. He said Bharti Enterprises will continue supporting technology-driven growth, financial inclusion and future-ready education initiatives through the Bharti Airtel Foundation.

Industry observers, who spoke to News Ei Samay, note that endorsements from major business leaders reflect broader optimism about the Budget’s long-term direction, particularly its focus on human capital and digital infrastructure as growth multipliers.
