Stock markets to remain open on Sunday
The stock exchanges will remain open on February 1, 2026, which falls on a Sunday, due to the presentation of the Union Budget.
In a statement issued earlier this month, the BSE said February 1 has been declared a special trading day. It added that BSE indices will be calculated as usual, and markets will function during normal trading hours. In a separate circular, the NSE also informed its members that a live trading session will be held on February 1, 2026, on account of the Union Budget presentation.
The Budget presentation will take place at Parliament House in New Delhi. After the Finance Minister's speech, the requisite documents will be laid in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
