She failed to secure the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) through NET twice in a row. While many would have been disheartened, she learned from that experience and moved forward. Third time proved to be the charm! Not only did she get the JRF, but she also likely topped the entire country. That too in NET, the all-India examination for assessing research eligibility.

Likely all-India topper in Bengali

Jadavpur University alumna Lopamudra Jana scored 232 out of 300 marks, likely securing first place nationwide in Bengali. Lopamudra says, "Nothing goes to waste. I didn't give up after failing twice. Instead, I learned from those mistakes and improved myself. That's why I succeeded."

A resident of Shyampur in Howrah, Lopamudra completed her graduation from St. Xavier's College. She also received a gold medal from that college. In other words, she was first in the Bengali department in 2022. She then enrolled for her master's at Jadavpur. While studying there, after failing NET twice, she made a big leap, likely securing first place nationwide.

Besides academics, she is quite skilled in music as well. Now she wants to conduct research on Rabindra literature from a good institution. In Lopamudra's words, "I never disconnected from my studies. It never happened that I studied intensively for one week and then didn't study for two weeks. I consistently studied, even if little by little. This focus is very important."
