In a move to enhance passenger convenience, especially for school, college, office commuters and airport-bound travellers, Kolkata Metro Railway has announced an increase in the number of services on Saturdays and Sundays, along with extended operational hours on the Yellow Line starting November 3, 2025 (Monday). The extended schedule aims to improve connectivity and reduce waiting times during weekends.
According to the Kolkata Metro services, the revised timetable will ensure smoother travel experiences for thousands of daily commuters.
Monday to Friday
A total of 120 services (60 UP & 60 DN) will be operated on weekdays, with extended service hours from 07:18 hrs. to 21:30 hrs. instead of 07:55 hrs. to 20:17 hrs.
First service
At 07:18 hrs. from Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar (Instead of 07:55 hrs.)
At 07:40 hrs. from Jai Hind Bimanbandar to Noapara (Instead of 08:00 hrs.)
Last service
At 20:58 hrs. from Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar (Instead of 20:00 hrs.)
At 21:18 hrs. from Jai Hind Bimanbandar to Noapara (Instead of 20:05 hrs.)
Saturday
On Saturdays, 92 services (46 UP & 46 DN) will be operated instead of 44 services, with extended service hours from 07:18 hrs. to 21:30 hrs. instead of 07:35 hrs. to 20:32 hrs.
First service
At 07:18 hrs. from Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar (Instead of 07:35 hrs.)
At 07:40 hrs. from Jai Hind Bimanbandar to Noapara (Instead of 08:00 hrs.)
Last service
At 20:58 hrs. from Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar (Instead of 20:00 hrs.)
At 21:18 hrs. from Jai Hind Bimanbandar to Noapara (Instead of 20:20 hrs.)
Sunday
On Sundays, 78 services (39 UP & 39 DN) will be operated instead of 40 services, with service hours extended from 09:18 hrs. to 21:30 hrs. instead of 08:35 hrs. to 20:22 hrs.
First service
At 09:18 hrs. from Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar (Instead of 08:35 hrs.)
At 09:40 hrs. from Jai Hind Bimanbandar to Noapara (Instead of 09:00 hrs.)
Last Service
At 20:58 hrs. from Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar (Instead of 19:50 hrs.)
At 21:18 hrs. from Jai Hind Bimanbandar to Noapara (Instead of 20:10 hrs)
On Saturdays and Sundays, services on this Yellow Line will be available at 18-minute frequency, instead of 35 minutes. With this change in the train schedule, now the services to and from Jai Hind Bimanbandar station will be available late evening. This will help commuters to commute to and from the Airport at night comfortably.
