Security tightened after last year’s vandalism

Strict security measures were in place at Kalerait Madrasa during this year's Madhyamik examination. Last year, a similar situation had led to vandalism at the madrasa on the final day of the examination. In view of that incident, additional police personnel were deployed at the centre from the morning.

It is alleged that several examinees arrived at the centre in two hired vehicles, carrying bamboo sticks and plastic pipes. While entering the premises, some students attempted to take the sticks and pipes into the examination hall. Police and madrasa authorities immediately stopped them. Though the situation created temporary tension inside and outside the centre, the examination continued without disruption.

Police detain students

Police detained the accused students and recovered sticks and pipes from them. The incident caused concern among parents and other examinees present at the centre.
