Though it is an orphanage, the authorities do not want to compromise on the education of the residents. This time, 10 residents of Paushi Antyodaya Orphanage under Bhagabanpur Block No. 2 are appearing for the Higher Secondary (HS exam) examination. Among them, eight are taking the exam from the orphanage and two from Snehachhaya Children's Home run by the orphanage. Of these 10 examinees, eight are taking the exam from the local Paushi Baikuntha Smriti Milani Vidyamandir and the remaining two from other schools.

Education as a path to self-reliance
This year, 14 residents from this orphanage appeared for the Madhyamik examination. The orphanage residents Subhash, Surajit, Sandhya, Siya, Shrabani, Rebati, Debjit, Mrinmoy, Dipika and Debshree are appearing for Higher Secondary this year. Some of them do not have mothers. Again, some do not have either father or mother.

Yet with mental strength, they have continued their studies in an attempt to stand on their own feet. The orphanage authorities have always been by their side. That is why they are able to sit for the second major examination of their lives. Balram Karan, the head of the orphanage, says, 'Each of them is working hard and preparing themselves so that everyone can achieve good results in the future. The orphanage is always with them and will continue to be in the future.'
