An overloaded tractor crashed into a house wall. Two students died when that wall collapsed on them. The deceased are named Ariyan Sheikh (7) and Aslima Khatun (9). The accident occurred on Wednesday evening in the Murarai police station area of Birbhum. Police have arrested the tractor driver.

It has been learned that, like every day, ten young students from the village had come to study at the home of Habiba Sultana, a resident of Palsa village under Murarai police station. They were dismissed around five in the evening. After that, four of the students started playing in the courtyard of the teacher's house. That became their doom. While the students were playing, a tractor loaded with paddy suddenly lost control and crashed into the wall of that house. Locals claim the tractor was overloaded.

The wall collapsed with a crash on top of the four children. Two students died on the spot. Two others were seriously injured. They were rescued and taken to Murarai Primary Health Centre and later to Rampurhat Medical College and Hospital. Two students are currently undergoing treatment there. Meanwhile, the bodies of the two deceased students have been brought to the morgue of Rampurhat Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police have reported that the tractor driver has been arrested. How this accident occurred is being investigated. Habiba Sultana's husband said, "They come for tuition every day. Classes had ended. A few were in the courtyard. That's when the vehicle crashed. Two died on the spot. The other two have been taken to the hospital." The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the area.
