Good news for a section of state government employees. Another day is being added to the holiday bag at the end of the year. The state finance department issued a notification on Tuesday. It stated that on December 27, Saturday, a section of government employees will get a holiday. The day is observed day is Guru Gobind Singh's 'Prakash Purab'.

The government notification stated that this holiday is a 'sectional holiday' and is for the employees of the Sikh community. Those working in government offices, local bodies, statutory bodies, boards, corporations and government-sponsored educational institutions will get the holiday. As a result, they will get two consecutive days off on the 27th and 28th. Before that, on December 25, Thursday, all government employees will have a holiday.
