Keeping tourists in mind, Gorumara's entrance will remain open on December 25 and January 1, with jeep safaris and elephant safaris continuing to operate. Naturally, tourists and those involved in tourism are pleased with this decision by the forest department.
During the rest of the year, tourist entry remains closed on Thursdays due to Gorumara's weekly holiday. But this time, December 25, Christmas Day, and the first day of the English year both fall on Thursdays. Naturally, during this time there will be crowds of tourists in Lataguri, the heart of the Dooars, and surrounding areas.

Considering this, the forest department made this decision. On Sunday, the department announced that Gorumara will be kept open for tourists on the next two Thursdays. This announcement has pleased everyone from tourists to hotel staff. Gorumara's eco guides Guru Kora, Hiramohan Oraon, Shri Oraon, and Subrata Paikra said that crowds will continue in Lataguri and Gorumara for the next few days. They are also optimistic that there will be an influx of tourists as two special days fall on Thursdays.
Tourists get the opportunity to visit Gorumara's Jatraprasad, Chapramari, Chukchuki, and Ramsai Medla watchtowers four times a day. Rajiv De, ADFO of Gorumara Wildlife Division, said, "Since Christmas and the first day of the English year fall on Thursdays, many tourists will come for jungle visits. So keeping that in mind, Gorumara is being kept open even on the weekly holiday of Thursday. Many people are involved with tourism. So this decision has been taken keeping that in mind."
