The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi has issued a security advisory for Indian citizens living in or travelling to the United Arab Emirates, urging them to strictly follow local safety guidelines amid rising tensions in West Asia.

In the advisory released on Sunday, the embassy said the UAE administration has warned that strict legal action may be taken if people take photographs or record videos without permission at accident sites, sensitive locations, or inside airports.

Indian citizens have been asked to remain alert and follow instructions issued by local authorities.

Advisory on sirens, debris, and social media

The embassy advised residents to move immediately to a safe place if any warning or siren is heard and remain there until the alert for that area is lifted.

People have also been told not to go outside to take photographs or videos during such alerts. Authorities have further urged residents not to share images or videos of accident sites on social media.

The advisory specifically warned against posting photographs of missile debris, explosion fragments, or damaged areas. If any shrapnel or suspicious object is seen, residents have been asked to inform the local administration immediately.

The embassy also advised people to stay away from such objects and avoid touching them.

Restrictions inside airports and advisory for Qatar

The advisory also highlighted restrictions on photography inside airports. Residents and travellers have been asked not to take photographs or record videos inside airports, especially during arrival or departure procedures.

The embassy said the guidelines have been issued keeping the current regional situation in mind and urged Indian citizens to strictly follow local laws and security instructions.

Meanwhile, the Embassy of India in Doha has issued a separate advisory for Indian nationals stranded in Qatar due to flight cancellations.

According to the embassy, tourists or short-term visa holders whose flights were cancelled have been asked to submit their details through a designated online link.

The advisory specifically applies to those staying in Qatar on Hayya A1 visa and whose flight tickets were cancelled between February 28 and March 7, 2026.

Officials said the information will help authorities assess the number of Indian citizens stranded in the country and understand their situation.
