The United States Embassy in Manama has issued a security alert warning that high-rise buildings in Bahrain are unsafe following confirmed reports that Iranian armed drones struck tall structures in the Gulf nation.
In a message posted on social media, the embassy said the broader Juffair area in Manama, along with high-rise buildings across Bahrain, has been deemed unsafe for US personnel.

“There are confirmed reports of high-rise buildings in Bahrain being struck by Iranian armed drones,” the US Embassy said in its security alert. “The US government has determined the broader Juffair area, and high-rise buildings in Bahrain, are not safe for US personnel.”
Juffair is a densely developed district in Bahrain’s capital and hosts several residential towers, hotels and international facilities.
Advisory urges caution for US citizens
The embassy also noted that it had come across unconfirmed social media reports claiming that US citizens in Bahrain could be targeted by Iran or groups aligned with it.
“The U.S. embassy is aware of unconfirmed social media reports of U.S. citizens in Bahrain being targeted by Iran and its proxies,” the advisory said.
Officials urged American citizens in Bahrain to remain vigilant and avoid areas where large crowds may gather.
“We encourage everyone to practice personal security awareness, be aware of their surroundings, and avoid large groups and demonstrations,” the embassy said.

Safety instructions issued
The advisory included detailed safety guidance for residents and visitors in Bahrain in case of explosions or missile and drone activity.
People were advised to immediately seek cover if sirens sound or loud blasts are heard. The embassy recommended moving to the lowest level of a building with the fewest windows and exterior walls. Those outdoors were urged to quickly take shelter inside a solid structure.
Officials also warned that debris from intercepted missiles or drones can pose serious risks.

“Even if the incoming missile or drone is intercepted, falling debris represents a significant risk,” the embassy said.
Authorities advised people to stay away from debris after any attack and rely only on official updates from government sources and credible media outlets.
The embassy also shared emergency contact details and asked US citizens to register with the State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) so they can receive security updates and emergency notifications.
