The US embassy in Kuwait has confirmed that it is under attack. In a statement, the embassy said the threat of a drone and missile remains. It urged residents and US citizens to stay away from the embassy premises until further notice.
As per several media reports, smoke was seen rising from the vicinity of the US embassy in Kuwait. Fire fighters and ambulances have also been seen in the area.
As per the latest notice issued by the US State Department and embassy in Kuwait, "There is a continuing threat of missile and UAV attacks over Kuwait. Do not come to the Embassy. Take cover in your residence on the lowest available floor and away from windows. Do not go outside. The US Embassy in Kuwait urges US citizens in Kuwait to shelter in place, review security plans in the event of an attack, and to stay alert in case of additional future attacks. US Embassy personnel are sheltering in place."

What actions to take
In its statement, the embassy has urged people to immediately seek cover in case any loud explosion is heard or if sirens are activated.
" If in a home or building, go to the lowest level of the structure with the fewest exterior walls, windows, and openings; close any doors and sit near an interior wall, away from any windows or openings," it added.
In case people are outdoors, they should "immediately seek cover in a hardened structure; if that is not possible, lie down and cover your head with your hands".
The embassy has asked people to "be aware that even if the incoming missile or drone is intercepted, falling debris represents a significant risk".
Furthermore, it has urged people to stay away from any debris after the attack and monitor major news outlets for official guidance.

US issues alert for American citizens worldwide
The US Department of State has reportedly issued a worldwide alert for American citizens. They are asked to be cautious due to the ongoing conflict with Iran.

"Stay informed by checking local news for updates. Avoid areas with active conflict and be extra careful near military or security forces," the notice from US embassies around the world said on Monday, as per a report by Hindustan Times.
