Three Indian sailors are caught in trouble due to the America-Russia geopolitical tug-of-war. On Wednesday, American forces seized the Russian-flagged oil tanker 'Marinera' in a dramatic operation in the turbulent North Atlantic Ocean. America detained the vessel on charges of violating American sanctions by carrying oil from Venezuela. According to Russian state media 'RT', three Indian citizens were among the ship's crew members.

'RT' reported that the 'Marinera' had a total of 28 crew members. The largest number was Ukrainian citizens, 17 people. Additionally, there were six from Georgia, three from India, and two from Russia. The Russian state media also reported that the tanker was initially flagged under Guyana, a Caribbean country. A private businessman had chartered it.

The ship is currently in American custody. However, it is not yet clear whether it has been taken to America or elsewhere after being seized. The Pentagon alleges that the vessel was operating as part of a 'shadow fleet', defying America's strict sanctions on Venezuelan oil supplies. Washington took control of the ship by deploying commandos from American warships and helicopters.

The biggest question now is: what is the future of those three Indian sailors on the ship? White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt has clearly stated that the ship's sailors will not be released immediately. They may be taken to America for trial in American courts.

So far, no official reaction or statement has been received from the Indian government on this matter. However, South Block is believed to be monitoring the situation. It is also speculated that the Indian embassy may contact America and Russia to provide legal assistance to the Indian sailors.
