Gold prices in India showed little movement on Sunday, April 19, with 24-carat and 22-carat rates holding nearly unchanged in the retail market. The day marks Akshaya Tritiya, a festival widely seen as an auspicious time to invest in gold and silver.
Going by the previous close, gold continues to hover above the ₹1.5 lakh mark, underlining the firm trend in bullion prices.
What are the gold and silver rates today?
As of 6:15 am, the price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,54,900 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,41,992 per 10 grams in the retail market.
Silver (999 fine) was quoted at ₹2,59,210 per kilogram, according to data from the Indian Bullion Association (IBA).
Retail buyers should note that final jewellery prices may be higher due to making charges, GST and other taxes levied by jewellers.
