The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the Class 10 and Class 12 admit cards for the 2026 board examinations shortly. Once issued, regular students will be able to access their hall tickets through the official CBSE website.
While the board has not announced an exact release date yet, previous years suggest that admit cards are usually published five to six days before the first examination. The CBSE board exams for both Class 10 and Class 12 are scheduled to begin from February 17, 2026.
It is important to note that admit cards for private candidates have already been released, as their examinations are also set to start on February 17.

Why is this admit card important?
CBSE has clearly stated that carrying the admit card to the examination centre is mandatory. “Candidates without a valid admit card will not be allowed to enter the exam hall under any circumstances,” the board said.
For students appearing in the 2026 board exams, the admit card will serve as a key document for identity verification. It will include important details such as roll number, subject codes, exam centre address and exam-day instructions. Students are advised to keep the admit card safe even after the exams, as it may be required for result access, re-evaluation or future academic admissions.
CBSE has also advised that admit cards issued through schools must carry the official school stamp and authorised signature. Without these, the document will be considered invalid.

How to download CBSE Class 10, 12 admit cards
Private candidates and school authorities handling regular students can download the admit cards by following these steps:
Step 1: Visit the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in
Step 2: Click on the link for CBSE Class 10 or Class 12 Admit Card 2026
Step 3: Enter the required login credentials
Step 4: The admit card will appear on the screen
Step 5: Check all details carefully and download it for future use
Students must verify details such as their name, roll number, subject-wise exam dates, exam centre address, photograph and signature. If any error is found, they should immediately contact their school authorities to get it corrected before the exam schedule starts.
