CUET UG 2026: NTA raises concern over photo mismatch

NTA flags photo mismatch for some CUET UG 2026 candidates. They must upload verified documents within the deadline to avoid exam issues.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced an important advisory on April 7, 2026, for CUET UG 2026 candidates. It concerns a mismatch found between photographs submitted during applications and identity proof documents.

After reviewing application data, NTA found that some candidates who used identity documents other than the Aadhaar Card had mismatched photographs. The live photos captured during the application process did not match records held by the Unique Identification Authority of India.

What affected candidates must do

The shared notice stated that NTA has given affected candidates a chance to verify their identity. They must upload a signed and attested certificate along with a recent photograph. The photograph must be certified by the principal or headmaster of their school or college. All documents must be uploaded as a single PDF file through the official correction link provided by NTA.

The notice further said that the candidates who cannot get verification from their institution have other options. They can submit an attestation from a Class-I Gazetted Officer, such as a Tehsildar, Revenue Officer, SDM, DM, or a Class-1 Gazetted Officer of the Indian Embassy (for NRI candidates).

Deadline and how to submit

The correction window is open from April 7, 2026, to April 10, 2026, until 10 pm. Candidates must complete the process within this deadline to avoid identity-related issues on exam day. NTA has also asked students to keep checking the official website for updates, As per the official notice.

CUET UG 2026

The CUET UG 2026 examination is scheduled from May 13 to May 31, 2026. The online application window was open from January 2 to February 4, 2026. A correction window was also available earlier from February 23 to February 26, 2026.

The advisory has been issued to help the exam run smoothly. Candidates should follow all instructions carefully and complete all the required steps before the deadline.
