The University of Delhi has announced a special arrangement for students unable to appear for examinations scheduled on May 28 due to Eid-ul-Zuha celebrations, allowing them to take the exams after July 4, 2026.
The university said eligible students must inform their respective principals or heads of departments through email to avail themselves of the facility.
In a post shared on its official X account, the university stated that students missing the examination because of Eid-ul-Zuha would be permitted to appear later once the regular examination schedule concludes.
Decision follows revised Eid-ul-Zuha date
According to NDTV, the announcement comes after changes in Bakrid holiday schedules across several states following revised moon-sighting confirmations.
While Eid-ul-Adha was initially expected to be observed on May 27 in several regions, religious authorities later confirmed that the moon marking the beginning of the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah had not been sighted in many parts of the country. As a result, the festival is being celebrated on May 28 across most of India.
