Delhi University has officially launched the first phase of undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session, inviting candidates who appeared in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2026 to register through its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal.
The admission process marks the beginning of seat allocation across dozens of undergraduate programmes offered by the university's constituent colleges. Candidates are required to complete the initial registration before moving on to programme and college preference selection, which will take place in the next phase.
Registration begins for over 70 undergraduate programmes
The university is offering admissions to 73 undergraduate courses along with more than 100 BA programme combinations spread across 67 affiliated colleges. As in recent years, admissions will be based entirely on CUET-UG 2026 scores, provided applicants meet the eligibility criteria prescribed for their chosen courses.
Students can access the CSAS portal using only their CUET-UG 2026 application number. Delhi University has also introduced an upgraded registration process in which key personal details, including photographs, signatures and date of birth, are automatically integrated through the Government of India's API Setu platform. The move is expected to reduce manual errors while improving the security of applicant data.

Fee structure and second phase explained
Applicants from the unreserved, OBC-NCL and EWS categories must pay a one-time non-refundable registration fee of ₹250. Candidates belonging to the SC, ST and PwBD categories are required to pay ₹100.
Once the registration process is completed, candidates will participate in the second phase of CSAS, where they will submit their preferred programme and college combinations. They will also need to map the CUET-UG subjects they appeared for with the subjects studied in Class 12.
The university has clarified that only those language and domain-specific CUET papers corresponding to subjects passed in Class 12 will be considered while determining eligibility and preparing merit scores.

University advises candidates to follow official updates
Based on the subject mapping exercise, Delhi University will determine the courses for which each applicant is eligible before allowing them to lock their programme and college preferences.
The schedule for Phase II of the admission process will be announced separately. Until then, candidates have been advised to carefully study the Undergraduate Bulletin of Information and the CSAS admission guidelines before completing their applications.
The university has also urged applicants to rely only on its official admission portal for updates, notifications and future announcements regarding the admission process.
