The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday announced the results of the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2026, with one candidate emerging as the top performer by securing a 100 percentile score in four out of five subjects.
"One candidate achieved a 100 percentile score in four out of the five subjects opted for in CUET-UG 2026, recording the best performance in the examination," the NTA said in a statement.

According to the agency, 22 candidates secured 100 percentile in three subjects, while 180 candidates achieved the same feat in two subjects. A total of 3,214 candidates scored 100 percentile in one subject.

Female topper records highest overall score
The NTA also released the gender-wise list of the top 10 candidates based on their NTA scores across five subjects.
The highest score among female candidates stood at 1232.19, slightly ahead of the top male score of 1230.82. The second and third highest scores among female candidates were 1203.78 and 1202.15, while male candidates recorded scores of 1207.21 and 1205.96.
Over 15 lakh students registered
According to official figures, 15,68,867 unique candidates registered for the examination, while 11,64,098 appeared.

Among those who registered, 7,94,257 were male candidates, 7,74,607 female candidates and three were from the third gender category. Of the candidates who appeared, 5,78,500 were male, 5,85,596 female and two were third-gender candidates.
"The NTA conducted the Common University Entrance Test (UG)-2026 in computer-based test (CBT) mode for 15,68,867 unique registered candidates," the agency said.

Results declared faster this year
The examination was conducted between May 11 and May 31, and again on June 6 and 7, across 321 cities, including 13 outside India.
"The result declaration timeline is substantially streamlined, enabling the declaration of results within 16 days of the examination's completion, representing a reduction of 14 days compared to the previous cycle," the release said.
