The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has published the academic calendar for the upcoming session of 2026-27, outlining the dates for classes, unit tests, practicals, and exams for students in classes 9 to 12.
Session to begin in April
The new academic session is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2026. The new academic year is expected to be conducted in a structured manner, with periodic assessments scheduled for the year. The first unit test, consisting of multiple-choice questions, is scheduled for the second week of July 2026. The test is based on the syllabus covered from the beginning of the new academic session until early July.

Unit tests and half-yearly exams
The second unit test, which is based on descriptive questions, has been scheduled to be held in the last week of August 2026. The half-yearly examinations will be conducted, with practical examinations scheduled to be held in the fourth week of September and written examinations to be held in the second and third weeks of October 2026. The marks obtained in these examinations will be uploaded by the first week of November.
The third unit test, which is based on MCQs, has been scheduled to be held in the last week of November 2026. The fourth unit test, which is based on descriptive questions, has been scheduled to be held in the last week of December 2026.
Syllabus completion and pre-boards
January 10, 2027, has been fixed as the deadline for completing the syllabus for Class 10 and 12, while for Class 9 and 11, the deadline for completing the syllabus is fixed for January 25, 2027. Pre-board practical exams for Class 12 students will commence from January 11. Pre-board written exams for Class 10 and 12 students will commence from January 18.

Board exams in February
Annual examinations for Classes 9 and 11 are to be conducted between February 1st and 10th, 2027. Meanwhile, the board practical examinations are to be conducted between January 27th and February 10th, 2027. The board examinations for Class 10 and 12 are to be conducted in February 2027.
Evaluation of answer sheets and uploading of marks for Classes 9 and 11 are to be completed by the third week of March 2027.
