The makers of Cocktail 2 hosted a special event in Mumbai where members of the media and influencers were invited for what was described as a surprise evening. The event featured exclusive previews of two songs from the film, Mashooka and Tujhko, along with an important update about the movie’s trailer launch.
At the end of one of the song previews, the makers revealed that the trailer of the film will be released on May 29, per a report by News18. The romantic drama, starring Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon, is scheduled to hit theatres on June 19, 2026.
Two songs give glimpse into the film’s romance
The first song, Mashooka, features Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon romancing against scenic backdrops in Sicily, Italy, and other picturesque locations. The track was showcased as a lively romantic number.

After both songs were played, the audience at the event was asked to vote for their favourite. Mashooka received more votes than Tujhko, following which music composer Pritam suggested that the team should release that track first. Producer Dinesh Vijan later confirmed that Mashooka would indeed be launched before Tujhko.
A new story in the Cocktail franchise
Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 is being positioned as a spiritual sequel to the 2012 film Cocktail, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty.

The film has been shot in Sicily as well as locations across Delhi, Gurugram and North India. It is produced by Maddock Films and written by Luv Ranjan.
Speaking earlier about comparisons with the original film, Kriti Sanon said, “I’m sure a comparison is going to happen, but the good part is that this is not a sequel; it’s a franchise. So it’s more of a vibe franchise, and the characters are separate."
