Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ is preparing for its digital release after a successful theatrical run, and the film’s OTT strategy has already created buzz among fans.
Unlike the first film, which premiered only on Netflix, the sequel will follow a different release plan. Reports suggest that the movie will stream on JioHotstar in India, while Netflix will release a special “Raw & Undekha” version for international viewers.
Different OTT plans for India and overseas viewers
The makers are reportedly opting for a dual-platform release to cater to different audiences. According to reports, viewers in India will be able to watch the film on JioHotstar, while audiences outside India will get the uncut version on Netflix.
The Netflix version is expected to include extended scenes and footage that were not shown during the theatrical release. Reports have referred to it as the “Raw & Undekha” edition of the film.
Massive OTT deal
The film’s streaming rights were sold for nearly ₹150 crore, making it one of the biggest OTT deals in recent times.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role alongside R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal. The film released in theatres on March 19 and went on to become one of the biggest box office performers of the year.
What made the OTT release notable
The split streaming plan has drawn attention because Bollywood films usually release on a single OTT platform after theatres. Industry watchers believe the strategy could help the film reach wider audiences across markets.
