The late legends Dharmendra and Asrani, who defined an era of humour and warmth with the 1975 classic, share screen space one final time in this film.
In a short clip where Dharmendra is seen delivering his touching lines, “Aaj bhi ji karda hai, pind apne nu jaanwa," fans noticed a brief yet emotional moment. As the camera shifts, Asrani appears beside him, sharing a light-hearted laugh with the veteran actor, who passed away on November 24 at the age of 89.
Asrani, too, passed away earlier this year at 84. According to his manager and close friend, the actor died from a chest infection on October 20 at around 3 PM.

Dharmendra’s last Instagram post
In his final Instagram update, Dharmendra appeared cheerful and energetic. Sitting on a tractor, he greeted fans with, "Tamaam bhai behno ko, bachche bachiyon ko, Dusshera ki shubhkamnaye. Bhagwan aapko lambi sehat de, khushiyan de, aur ab aap naye ban ke rahe, tab toh tarraki hi tarraki hai." The post carried no caption.
“Ikkis” is a war drama based on the life of Arun Khetarpal, the youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film stars Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia.
Sholay, released in 1975 and directed by Ramesh Sippy, remains one of Indian cinema’s greatest films. It follows two men, Veeru (Dharmendra) and Jai (Amitabh Bachchan), hired by a retired police officer to capture the notorious Gabbar Singh. Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan play Basanti and Radha, the love interests of Veeru and Jai.
