Tesla has opened its new experience centre in Whitefield, Bengaluru, marking another expansion of its presence in India after Mumbai and Delhi. The facility, launched on May 14, 2026, allows visitors to explore the Model Y along with the newly introduced Tesla Model Y L, a six-seater electric SUV. The move comes as Tesla aims to strengthen its reach in India’s growing electric vehicle market.

The company is also focusing on improving customer experience by introducing after-sales service support in Bengaluru. This step is aimed at making ownership smoother and more reliable for Indian customers while supporting the brand’s vision of sustainable and cleaner mobility.

What makes Tesla Model Y L a family-focused SUV

As per NDTV reports, the brand states that the Tesla Model Y L six-seater electric SUV comes with a 5-star safety rating in ANCAP and is designed as the ultimate family vehicle. The Model Y L offers a driving range of up to 681 km (WLTP), allowing long-distance travel with fewer charging stops.

It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds, making it both powerful and efficient. The SUV also provides up to 2,539 litre of cargo space, giving more room for luggage and daily needs. With its three-row seating design, the Model Y L improves headroom, legroom, and overall comfort for both drivers and passengers.

How safe and efficient are Tesla Model Y and Model Y L

Tesla vehicles are built with a strong focus on safety. Both the Model Y L and Model Y have received top safety ratings from major global organisations like NHTSA and IIHS in America, Euro NCAP in Europe, ANCAP in Australia and New Zealand, and CIASI in China. These ratings show that Tesla is setting high standards in safety, performance, efficiency, and advanced technology.

As per NDTV reports, both the Model Y Long Range and Model Y L use the same 83 kWh battery and support up to 250 kW fast charging speed. Even then, the Model Y L gives around 20 km more range on a full charge, which is impressive because it is a bigger car and also has an all-wheel-drive system that adds extra weight.

How does Tesla Model Y L perform in fast charging

The difference between the Model Y L and Model Y Long Range is also visible at Superchargers. In just 15 minutes, the Model Y L can deliver about 288 km of range, while the Model Y Long Range gives around 267 km. This means the Model Y L provides around 21 km more range from the same charging time, which is quite impressive.
