Filmmaker Aditya Dhar has reacted to actor Hrithik Roshan’s second public review of Dhurandhar, thanking him for the encouragement while hinting at what lies ahead for the franchise.
Hrithik had taken to social media to share a detailed appreciation post for the Ranveer Singh–led spy thriller, praising its performances and technical craft just hours after an earlier note in which he admitted to disagreeing with the film’s political undertones.

Responding to Hrithik’s later post on X (formerly Twitter), Dhar wrote, “Deeply humbled by your love for #DHURANDHAR, @iHrithik sir.” He added that the recognition meant a great deal to the team. “Every actor and every department gave more than 100 percent, and your appreciation is a huge boost for all of us,” he wrote, before signing off with a teaser: “Part 2 is coming… and we’ll try our best to live up to this encouragement.”
Hrithik’s two reviews spark online debate
Hrithik’s comments drew so much attention because they arrived in two contrasting parts. In his first reaction, shared on Instagram Stories, the actor praised the film’s storytelling but openly acknowledged his reservations about its politics.
“I love cinema and people who let the story take control,” Hrithik wrote. “Dhurandhar is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It’s cinema. I may disagree with the politics of it and argue about the responsibilities filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world, but I can’t ignore how much I learnt from this as a student of cinema.”
A couple of hours later, his second post struck a celebratory tone. Naming individual performers, he said he liked Ranveer Singh’s transformation, called Akshaye Khanna one of his favourites, applauded R Madhavan’s restraint, and singled out Rakesh Bedi’s performance. He also applauded the film’s makeup and prosthetics teams and said that he was eager for the sequel.
