The Kerala Story 2 sparks controversy; Anurag Kashyap criticises makers as ‘They just want to make money’ and ‘a greedy man’

The Kerala Story 2 faces controversy as Anurag Kashyap calls it "propaganda", while the Kerala High Court reviews its CBFC clearance, and the film's producer defends it.

Around three years after the release of The Kerala Story, the makers are returning with Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond. The sequel once again created a sensation. Many citizens raised questions about whether the claim "inspired by many true events" is true or just a support of the movie.

Anurag Kashyap confronted through the media.

Although he shared criticism of a widely shared beef scene in the trailer. He questioned if it appeared logical, asking, "Aisa beef kaun khilata hai?" No one serves food in that way. "They just want to make money and please everybody; they divide people," Kashyap further said. “The filmmaker is a greedy man. He just wants to make money.”

Apart from director Anurag Kashyap, the Kerala High Court raised an issue over the movie. The notice regarding an appeal questioning the Central Board of Film Certification's (CBFC) clearance of the film has been handed to the makers by the Kerala High Court. The teaser and trailer, according to the applicant, portray women from various places being pressured into religious conversion and stuck in relationships. The argument goes that while the story discusses other states, the title exclusively refers to Kerala, creating a connection between the state's forced conversions and major problems like terrorist activities.

Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah takes a stand for The Kerala Story 2

The movie's title has been supported by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. In an interview with ANI, the producer said, "Kerala Story 2 goes beyond Kerala and exposes the massive conspiracy of manipulative conversion going on throughout India," he declared. He continued by saying that the name of the sequel has similarities to that of the original movie since it has the same movie idea.
