Actor Ayesha Khan, known for her recent appearance in Dhurandhar, has warned fans against an imposter using her identity on WhatsApp to contact people.
Khan took to Instagram on Saturday morning to share a screenshot of a WhatsApp message sent from an unknown number claiming to be her. Posting the image publicly, the actor wrote, “This is not me! Please do not entertain!”, making it clear that the number does not belong to her and urging followers not to respond.
The screenshot shared by Khan revealed that the sender was addressing the recipients in a familiar manner, which is commonly practiced by impersonators to gain the trust of the victims. By revealing the number, the actor intended to ensure that her identity was not further misused.

The incidence of impersonation on messaging apps has been on the rise, with celebrities regularly reporting fake WhatsApp numbers that claim to be from them or their teams. While fake social media profiles are easy to spot, impersonation on private messaging apps is a cause of concern as the messages seem more personal.
Khan is among several actors who have recently spoken out on the issue. Last year, actor Shriya Saran had also issued a public warning after an unknown person contacted people on WhatsApp using her name. In her post, Saran had clarified that the number did not belong to her and criticised the misuse of her identity, calling it misleading and disruptive.
Industry insiders say celebrities are increasingly advising fans and professional contacts to rely only on verified channels or official representatives for communication, particularly when discussions involve work, collaborations or financial matters.
In terms of professional appearances, Khan was last spotted in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, which was released in December of last year. Khan has also featured in a dance number titled Shararat in Dhurandhar in the same month, which gained her considerable attention on social media platforms.

There have also been reports emerging that Khan might feature in the cast of Bhagam Bhag 2. However, neither the actress nor the production house has confirmed this news yet. The sequel is expected to feature Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Manoj Bajpayee in the lead roles.
Currently, Khan has advised her fans to be careful and not fall for anyone claiming to be associated with her on messaging platforms.
