Netflix India has released the trailer of its upcoming psychological thriller, 'Accused', starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta. The movie, shot outside the country, revolves around a same-sex married couple whose life begins to fall apart after a serious accusation turns their life upside down.

The trailer, which was released on Saturday, gives a hint of a story that is based on trust, interpretation, and turmoil, where a professional complaint spills over into the personal.

Allegations shake a marriage

Konkona Sen Sharma stars as Dr Geetika, a gynecologist whose life turns upside down when she is labelled a "sexual predator" due to a complaint at work. The incident comes at a time when she and her wife, Meera (Pratibha Ranta), are announcing their joint plans to adopt a child.

An anonymous tip to the hospital's HR department sparks an investigation that could ruin Geetika's reputation and career. As the spotlight focuses on Geetika, the tension builds between her and Meera, who is struggling to maintain her trust in her wife despite the charges eating away at both of them. The trailer hints at past accusations, deepening uncertainty and emotional strain within the relationship.

As the spotlight turns on Geetika, her reputation and personal life are on the verge of being destroyed.

Sharing the trailer, Netflix India wrote, "Every relationship has secrets. Are you ready to find theirs? About the film

'Accused' is written by Sima Agarwal and Yash Keswani and directed by Anubhuti Kashyap. The project is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawala and Somen Mishra.

Speaking about the film, the makers in a statement said, "Accused is the kind of story that stays with you because it refuses to simplify human behaviour or moral conflict. Anubhuti has crafted a deeply nuanced film that places women at the centre of a narrative we rarely explore, one where power, perception, and belief are constantly shifting. With Konkona and Pratibha leading the film, we're looking at a relationship tested not just by accusation, but by doubt itself. It's a story told with restraint, empathy, and courage, and we're proud to bring it to Netflix, a platform that has supported the film's intent to provoke thought rather than judgment."

Accused is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on February 27.
