A fictional cursed object from the horror film Obsession has unexpectedly become one of the internet’s latest viral trends. The item, called the One Wish Willow, has been flooding social media feeds as fans share unboxing videos, discuss the story behind it and search online for replicas.
What makes the trend unusual is that the object itself is not meant to be admired in the film. In Obsession, the One Wish Willow is presented as a cursed item that grants wishes; but with dangerous consequences.
What is the One Wish Willow?
In the movie, the One Wish Willow appears to be a harmless novelty product. Users are told to snap the willow stick and make a wish. The problem is that every wish comes with a dark twist.

The story follows a character named Bear, who wishes for his childhood friend Nikki to love him more than anyone else in the world. Initially, the wish seems successful, but Nikki’s affection gradually becomes obsessive and frightening.
The concept mirrors classic horror themes often seen in stories like The Monkey’s Paw; getting exactly what was wished for, but in a way that spirals out of control.
Part of the object’s appeal lies in its ordinary appearance. Unlike traditional horror props, the One Wish Willow resembles something that could easily be sold in a toy shop or novelty store.
The marketing campaign blurred reality and fiction
The creators of Obsession extended the experience beyond the movie through an immersive marketing campaign.
A dedicated website for the One Wish Willow was launched, designed to look like a genuine online store complete with retro branding, product descriptions and even a customer support number for “wish-related issues."
The number listed on the site is 1-323-747-7118.

Visitors can browse the page as though they are shopping for a real product, making it difficult for some viewers to separate the fictional horror story from the marketing itself.
Fans fuel the viral trend
The growing popularity of the One Wish Willow has closely followed the success of Obsession, created by YouTube filmmaker Curry Barker.
As the film gained attention, fans began treating the One Wish Willow as a collectible linked to the movie’s universe.
An older promotional post has also resurfaced online, featuring the caption: “You only get one wish… Call the One Wish Willow hotline (1-323-747-7118) and buy your own One Wish Willow today: OneWishWillow.com. #Obsession is only in theaters May 15."
The post continues to circulate widely as social media users join the conversation around the fictional cursed item.
