Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi made a comeback at the box office with a strong commercial performance by crossing the ₹60 crore mark in two days for his film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the action-comedy has maintained momentum despite receiving mixed critical reviews, driven largely by audience response to Chiranjeevi’s performance and humour.

As reported by the trade tracking website Sacnilk, the movie collected ₹32.25 crores on the opening day, along with ₹9.35 crores from paid previews, making it a total of ₹41.6 crores. The movie collected a total of approximately ₹19.50 crores on the second day, making a total of ₹61.10 crores within a period of 48 hours.

The two-day figure places Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu among the strongest openers in Chiranjeevi’s recent filmography.

Surpasses Acharya, outpaces recent Hindi releases

With its current tally, the film has already overtaken the lifetime domestic collection of Chiranjeevi’s 2022 release Acharya, which ended its run at approximately ₹56 crore. The new release has also crossed the total collections of recent Hindi films such as Ikkis (₹30 crore) and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (₹49.5 crore).

Trade analysts note that while the film’s second-day numbers were lower than its opening, the drop has been within acceptable limits for a mass entertainer that released mid-week. In comparison, Prabhas’ The Raja Saab, despite a higher opening day, witnessed a sharper decline in subsequent days, according to box office data.

At present, The Raja Saab stands at ₹119.45 crore domestically across languages, but its daily collections have slowed considerably, while Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu continues to draw steady footfalls.

Audience response drives collections

While critics offered mixed reviews, audience response has been largely favourable, particularly toward Chiranjeevi’s comic timing, which many fans see as a return to form. Social media reactions and word-of-mouth have played a role in sustaining the film’s performance through its second day.

The film has Nayanthara and Catherine Tresa in the lead roles, while Venkatesh makes an extended cameo that has received positive reactions from audiences. Industry trackers say the movie's weekend performance will now decide whether the film will hold on to its initial gain.

About the film

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu sees Chiranjeevi's return to the big screen after Bhola Shankar. A family-friendly action-comedy, the film relies more on humour and star value than scale-driven spectacle.

The ₹ 60 crore mark is already crossed, and all eyes are on what it does during the extended weekend.
